![]() PhpMyAdmin is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) program for Managing MySQL Databases. In 2001, a group of three developers Olivier Müller, Marc Delisle, and Loc Chapeaux, established The phpMyAdmin Project at SourceForge and took over development. PhpMyAdmin had already established itself as one of the most popular PHP applications and MySQL Administration tools, with a big user and contributor community. Due to a lack of time, he abandoned the project in the year 2000. Inspired by MySQL-Webadmin, Tobias Ratschiller, then an IT consultant and eventually the founder of the software business Maguma, began working on a PHP-based Online Front-end to MySQL in 1998. It has become one of the most popular MySQL Administration tools, especially for web hosting services, as a Portable Web Application developed mostly in PHP. PhpMyAdmin is a free and open-source MySQL and MariaDB Administration Tool. OpenSSL, phpMyAdmin, MediaWiki, Joomla, WordPress, and a slew of other modules are also included. ![]()
In the case of grief, PTSD, and/or depression there may be more time needed to work with these feelings and I recommend that anyone with depression or mood disorders consult a mental health professional before beginning or altering any course of treatment. However, with time and practice, whatever feeling I was having passed through me more easily-as long as I brought my attention, understanding and compassionate observing to the table. Why? I had never really sat with myself or allowed these feelings to be seen so there was a lot inside of me that wanted to come out. I felt relieved to hear this 90-second timespan because it had mirrored some my experiences as a meditation practitioner for nearly 20 years. In the beginning of my practice, I had big waves of emotions that definitely lasted longer than 90 seconds. I first heard about the lifecycle of emotions several years ago. Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor shares in her research that most emotions don’t last longer than 90 seconds. The more I could turn toward my experience, and the physical sensations in my body, with compassion and understanding, I could feel the emotions passing and releasing. At first, I was taken aback by how intense these feelings were and noticed my mind trying to make sense of what was happening. I spent a few days afterward feeling off center, crying off and on, and feeling a bit agitated in my body. After meeting with him recently, I was struck by how intense the feelings of sadness and loss were transmitted between us. The more you can learn to stay with all the highs and lows of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, the more strength you can bring to each moment and experience.įor example, the other week, a good friend was going through a lot of difficulty and loss. It requires that we learn to stay by turning toward the difficulty versus pushing away. The more we can meet any difficulty with presence, compassion, and kindness, the easier we can move through it. The power of learning how to live a mindful life is to embrace this truth as much as you possibly can and live for the moment with some future planning that you hold loosely. We never really know what is coming next and sometimes the best and most courageous thing we can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep breathing through all of it. Life will always be impermanent and therefore always uncertain. As much as we would like to know, to control, and to plan every little part of our lives so that it all works out in a way that creates more security and ease, we cannot. What I hear from most of my clients and students is that uncertainty is what creates the most difficulty. The practice is learning how to stay with and turn toward the difficulty. In the moment, when something feels difficult, it seems like it will never pass. Every thought, feeling, and moment is quickly changing into the next. When life begins to feel more intense than normal, it’s important to remember to slow down, turn toward these bigger feelings, and see the bigger picture. Life feels a little more intense these days: at home, work, out in the world. ![]() With that being said, ammo is scarce, so I recommend holding onto it for bosses only. This Magnum deals 1,700 damage per shot, making it the best single-target weapon in Resident Evil Village. Please refer to our privacy policy to learn more. How much is infinite ammo for Wolfsbane? Weapon Name While impressive, the Handcannon PZ is comparatively an inferior gun with its lower damage, ammo capacity, and its lack of attachments. However, only start upgrading if you plan to unlock the infinite weapon variant of the Magnum in New Game Plus! Is the Handcannon good in re8? ![]() The weapon already outshines all other weapons but the extra damage helps in taking down bosses faster. If you’re looking to tweak the M1851 Wolfsbane, prioritize upgrading the Power stat first. With maxed-out firepower of 4500, it can one-shot most mobs on any difficulty. The gun is in the house with the locked doors. To get it, players first have to defeat Salvatore Moreau and then leave the Reservoir to find some abandoned houses nearby. Hands down, the M1851 Wolfsbane is the single most powerful handgun in the entire game in terms of raw stopping power. What is the most powerful weapon in Resident Evil Village? Behind that the WCX is a great gun to have when you get swarmed or need to take down a crowed, it deals 4,000 damage a second with an 80 round mag and has no recoil. STAKE is far superior, higher damage, faster reload, more rounds per mag. Which is more powerful wolfsbane or stake? Recently in my math class we went over “contour plots” which show the curves of intersection between a function $f(x,y)$ and a number of constant planes of the form $z=c$. You can make the blob more interesting by composing and summing additional sinusoids, but it slows down the blob due to greater computation time, which ruins the effect. I added in $\cos(x)$ to the $x$ coordinate to create the jellyfish effect and it works pretty well. Luckily, math gives us the perfect tool for this: sinusoidal functions. I wanted to give the blob an expanding and contracting motion, sort of like a jellyfish. So began the first blob type (“blobby blob”). Otherwise, the blob is a sort of ellipsoid shape that points in the direction of the function. Note that $f(x)$ is a function of $x$, so chances are it isn’t a constant. The blob has to follow the function, though, so I set $b=f(x)$. I wanted the blob to move along the $x$ axis as $c$ varies so I set $a=c$. The general form of a circle centered at $(a, b)$ with radius $r$ is The second blob (“not so blobby blob”) is easier to explain, so I’ll start with that. The difference between the two blobs is the nature of their shapes. Press the play button on the $c$ slider or simply move it back and forth manually to see the blob move. Both blobs follow the given function $f(x)$ as $c$ changes. Basically, you can select 1 of 2 blob types. Try it yourself: The blob moves along the function (orange curve) and always stays between the red curves.Īlthough it has no purpose, this is still one of my favorites. The top and bottom of the blue curve are pinched together because the direction of the point moving along the circle is rapidly changing since the ellipse is wider than it is tall. For example, from the image above, you can tell the major axis is in the $x$ direction because the cosine analog has a greater range than the sine analog. I don’t know of any applications for this, but it is pretty interesting to see how the shape of these functions change depending on the characteristics of the ellipse. The blue curve is an analog of cosine, and the red is an analog of sine. In fact, if you set $a=c_0$ and $b=c_0$ in the graph above for some $c_0\neq 0$, the resulting functions will be the sine and cosine. ![]() This is analogous to the $\sin$ and $\cos$ functions for a circle. This graph shows the functions that yield the $x$ and $y$ coordinates of a point as it moves around an ellipse. The black curve is the function (you can edit it from the link above), the red line is the tangent, and the blue line is the normal. So I decided to create a little demonstration, and this is probably one of the first things that got me seriously interested in math. ![]() However, I did understand that the derivative magically yields the slope of the function at any given point. I also like it because I had no idea how to do calculus when I created it about a year and a half ago. I like this one because of the simplicity. To rotate an entire curve (as opposed to a single point), I made a parametric function of $t$ and applied the transformation to each point $(t, f(t))$ in the domain $a\leq t \leq b$. In the Desmos graph I took advantage of this fact to rotate each point. Luckily, the parameterization of the complex unit circle is exactly the same as the parameterization of the unit circle in the real plane (excluding the imaginary unit of course). Unfortunately, Desmos does not support complex numbers. This means a $z$ can be rotated about the origin $a$ radians by multiplying by $i^$) and $\theta$ is the angle of the same vector with the positive x axis. Note that this means each “point” is really just a single number. The blue curve is the original function and the orange curves are the rotated versions.Ī complex number $z=x+yi$ is plotted in the complex plane by putting the real part $x$ on the horizontal axis and the imaginary part $y$ on the vertical axis. I accomplished this by first looking to rotations in the complex plane, then translating the method to the real plane. The goal of this graph is to take a function $f(x)$ and rotate it around the origin by an arbitrary radian amount in order to demonstrate the concept of rotation in the complex plane. You can click on the links after each header to edit and interact with the graphs in the browser. There are some additional interesting graphs at the bottom that are cool as well. ![]() Recently I went through my old Desmos ( ) graphs and I’d like to share 5 of my favorites here. ![]() The vertical lines from the side view are extended to make the long sides, then reference the front view to determine the length of the sides and draw connecting lines to complete the rectangle shape of the top view. A couple of center lines will help keep the location of the terminals correct (these represent the centers of the terminals, not the rectangle).ĭrawing a top view will use construction lines as well. For the battery, that would be the terminals on top. Next, add whatever other features can be seen from that point of view. If you try to draw a rounded rectangle in one continuous stroke, you're going to end up with a potato. Draw straight lines, then rounded corners or vice versa. To draw a rectangle with rounded corners (also called fillets in designer speak), it's important to draw the parts individually. In the case of the battery, that's the rectangular profile of the front. It's often helpful to use tick marks as targets.īefore going any further with construction lines, draw the primary shape of the object from one viewing angle. Remember to draw parallel lines first, then draw the crossing lines do get proper right angles. ![]() Try to get the proportions as close to the real object as possible by using your fingers or your pencil to get a rough idea. Start by drawing a few construction lines to create boundaries for the different views of the object. ![]() Think of construction lines as a kind of cage that your drawings a built from. You can never have too many construction lines, especially if they're drawn lightly in pencil. They help to tell you where hard lines (lines made in pen) should go, and help you make sure things have the right proportions, help you make circles and other complex shapes, and keep different views consistent. This is why it’s important to start with 2D drawing before moving onto 3D.Ĭonstruction lines are a great tool to control your drawings. Trying to design exclusively in 3D (whether by sketching or using 3D software) can often result in objects that aren't well thought-out, as you need to see how each side relates to the other. By drawing the object from different points of view in this way, we are able to make decisions and solve problems in a localized way. If you look straight-on at any side of the box, what you see of the object inside is its orthographic projection. To create an orthographic drawing, imagine that the object you want to draw is inside a glass box. This kind of drawing is not done using perspective. The top, front, back, left side, right side, and bottom are separate sketches. Simply put, this means drawing an object straight-on from each of its sides. The way to break down a design and study it is to use orthographic projection. This is as true in math and history as it is in music and design. To understand something complex, you have to look at it in pieces. Seeing the projected sides of an object helps us understand proportions, scale, and relationships that are difficult to see in 3D. When developing a design through sketching, it helps to look at the object in separate “orthographic” views, also known as multi-view drawing. Pesticides effects on environment are also directly linked to the constantly declining bee population, a species that is vital to plant pollination. When this occurs, additional fertilizer is bound to be applied to the fields. Effects of pesticide on plants and animalsĬhemicals present in most pesticides reduce nitrogen fixation, the symbiotic relationship between nitrogen-fixing bacteria and plants that is required for proper plant growth.Ī reduction in nitrogen fixation results in reduced crop yield, particularly in legume-type plants. In our home and garden, when we use mosquito repellents, bed bug spray regularly, the harmful substances enter into the physiology of humans and animals upon breathing. The harmful effects of pesticides on soil are clearly evident as it makes it infertile within some years. "I also learned that being active will only get you so far when you're trying to lose weight. Connecting to my breath and making time for me made me mentally and physically stronger each week. Each week, I found one thing I could be proud of, like balancing one second longer or going one inch deeper in a pose. The surgeons put a collection of screws in me that would make a hardware store envious and told me I had to wait three months before bearing any weight on that leg. Real talk: Sometimes getting to the gym and crushing an hour-long workout packed with sprints on the treadmill, dumbbell squats, and burpees sounds less than appealing. ![]() ![]() But very early in the game, Observer System Redux reveals itself as a not so perfect upgrade: there are unexplainable framerate drops and various bugs that will require you to load previous saves in order to be able to continue the game. The most obvious improvement is the graphics, which include now Ray Tracing and HDR. Instead of focusing on cheap scare tactics, the developers managed to achieve a very tense atmosphere throughout the game, with some memorable moments, that trade cheap jump scares for an almost palpable tension that remains with you even after you finished the game. Your character will still be assaulted by unexpected sound effects and visual hallucinations, but their impact is considerably reduced compared to the original game. The mixing of the reality and the after-effects of memory diving is still pivotal, but with the improvement of the narrative structure, the developers also toned down the jump scares. This gameplay element still feels overstretched, although the game is still short. The added missions also better explain the context of what is going on around the player and the process of exploring the memories. The new content represents just another way to immerse the player in the micro-universe of the building, and highlight even further the hopelessness of its tenants. Despite the new side missions, there are only minor adjustments when it comes to the gameplay. The road will be paved with mysteries and puzzles, but those who already played the original will have no major surprises. The result is thought-provoking on different layers and how far it strikes the players, depends only on how far they are willing to go down the rabbit hole. This equality among observer and observed contribute immensely to the atmosphere of the game.Īfter the mandatory first steps, the game explores philosophical and ethical issues typical to the cyberpunk universe, putting in balance the aspirations, beliefs, and morals of the different characters you will encounter. This includes the Observer himself, our hero, making all the wretched characters part of the same play on the same stage. In Observer System Redux there is nothing glorious or “gangsta” about the struggle to survive.Īll the tenants have to face common desperation, caused by the lack of resources and paranoia that big brother is always watching. The narrative is mundane and sci-fi, colorful, and dark at the same time. The story will take Dan into an apartment building with multiple stories, a surreal place suspended between the reality of the rundown physical structure and the layer of digital eye candy that hides the decay. The game starts with Lazarski himself in quite a dark place, but a call from his long lost son puts everything in motion once again. The entire game feels better anchored in reality than other cyberpunk themed videogames, clearly targeting a more mature audience. Instead of hunting down androids, Dan has to face the filth hidden in the dark corners of human nature, by investigating more mundane crimes. The story is centered around Dan Lazarski, a police detective, that reminds us of a burnt-out Blade Runner. As a result, the story in Observer Redux System is less convoluted and better explained, the relations among the characters are more obvious, and the plot unravels in a way that is easier to follow. The developers apparently listened to all the feedback and decided to give another go to their game, trying to better represent their vision. ![]() Despite the skillful voice acting by Rutger Hauer, the original Observer did not get universal praise due to several issues, including the inconsequential visual representation interfering with the puzzles and the immersion in the game world. It remains a first-person adventure game, where you will have to navigate both the surrounding reality and the fictive world built on memories, in order to put together an intricately woven and hidden story. Observer System Redux although has updated graphics, and some tweaks here and there, but in essence does not change the basics of the original game. Observer System Redux is not quite a new game, rather a rerelease for the current-gen of a three years old dark adventure, starring the late Rutger Hauer. In a previous review we already talked about the charming experience presented by Cloudpunk, and today we present another adventure game set in a dystopian future. While Cyberpunk 2077 still struggles with countless problems, in its shadow other games strive to reach the light of our screens. There is life in the sci-fi world of cyberpunk beyond the issues and daily updates from CD Projekt RED. ![]() Tip: Left-click on the Zim notification icon will display the most recent notes.Tip: Zim’s performance can really be improved performance by turning off spelling on large notes. The easiest way to do this is to go into the folder where the notes are and create their own folders for them. Tip: If you have a lot of topics like me, a general topic can be made and then others dropped on it.This was easy to fix by right clicking a folder and in “Open With” reselecting Nautilus. Zim installation did unfortunatly take over the file:/// mime type so all folders I tried to open did so through vim. The entire process took about 15 minutes so I shouldn’t gripe, the script did pretty good including indenting, bulleted lists, formatting and all links. So I had to manually grep through my 1dlasdfaXXXYYY.notes and discover the offending ones independently and move them. The best thing about Zim is there turned out to be a conversion script for tomboy notes! Unfortunately the conversion script is a bit dated and would fail on some notes – it would convert them but the conversion process would stop. Zim felt pretty responsive – alot better than tomboy, but not close to Notecase. It has support for all types of formatting, linking to other notes and webpages, heirarchical notes views, and understands wiki formatting. Zim is written in Gtk2-Perl and proposes to me leaner on resources then tomboy. Labeled a notepad wiki is may be a bit more extravagant than I was looking for. Almost instant loads times and responsiveness its what I was looking for in a note taking app. Notecase is written in C++ and feels like it. Support for linking to other notes and to weblinks are a plus. The setup, though a bit eccentric, (notes are called nodes) is very nice. Notecase keeps track of notes in a seperate pane. Notecase support hierachical note taking, meaning notes can be nested within notes – a nice feature. Originally I was expecting something similiar to xpad but it has more features (though I feel overcompicatedly so). The only thing putting me off would be having to manually transfer and reformat all dozens and dozens of notes. I copied my largest notes onto an xpad window and it handled them without a problem. It does support multiple notes and it extremly lightweight. Basically it’s sticky notes with gtk support and ability for simple formating (Bold, Italic….). I began research if any alternates were available besides just using gedit. So my “OMG this is taking a dam week”, with Tomboy reached such a pitch I began just thinking of using gedit as my new notetaker. Seconds going by can mean the deterioration of an idea. For instance just copying the information on one note took minutes to do. The large notes have become almost impossible to edit on my iBook. I can wait 5 seconds when I click the tomboy icon just for the notes to show. The incredible number of links to other notes (I have a lot of them) creates a terrible amount of dependencies. Thats the way a note taking application needs to be. We all like apps that when we get an idea the pen and paper is right there. By reverting back 0.6.3 and mono-1.2.2.1 it is functional again the bad news it that it’s horribly unusable. Good news is, I finally got tomboy to work. On my MacBook it was a livesaver but since I ditched that rag, I’ve missed tomboy alot. Comparision of Notetaking Apps - From an earlier post I noted that tomboy (my favorite notetaking app) fails to run on my iBook. |
